Diving deep on church + school partnership

Collaboration Project Story Team
Schools are at the heart of every neighborhood, every community, so it makes sense that in its first months of existence, Collaboration Project has put a particular emphasis on ways congregations can serve the schools in their area. One of the dreams of the Collaboration Project is that every school have a church partner - and those partnerships already take a variety of forms.
In the last six months, we have told the stories of some of those partnerships. At the upcoming Kingdom Justice Summit there will a day of intensive exploration of what else might happen.
Here are some of the stories so far -
Local churches provide weekend nutrition for children
Pen pals help kids build skills, relationships
Churches + Schools = Partnerships
Many hands, much food for Thoreau kids
A half dozen churches hustle to feed children
And here’s a Facebook video about the closing night of the food drive
Jon Anderson, the executive director of the Collaboration Project, poses this question: “Imagine the kind of impact for good we could make if we learned from each other, found common ground with the school district we are serving in, and took regular time to pray and strategically align our resources with the needs and resources of our partner schools.”
The Schools Affinity Group intensive session on Saturday, March 7, at Asbury Church, whill provide that opportunity. The church is at 6101 University Ave. in Madison. The intensive will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here’s where you can register. And below is the schedule for the day.
