United Thanksgiving Service Returns!
In 2022, after For Dane brought Marcio Sierra, the senior pastor at Lighthouse Church, and John Schmitz, a lay leader at Blessed Sacrament, together in service to the community, they dreamt up what it could be like to unite Christians in worship together.
This initial conversation culminated in a Thanksgiving-themed worship service, with both Spanish and English components, ministry leaders from denominations all across the Christian ecology in Madison, and over 800 Christians there to worship. It was a beautiful experience and we trust that God’s name was glorified, not only in the worship itself but in the unity of Christ’s Church gathered.
This year, with a mixture of last year’s team and new ministry leaders, we’re preparing to worship together again, thanking God for all the blessings in our lives.
During a recent planning meeting, the ministry partners were asked to share why they’re choosing to be a part of this - the images on the side give a sampling of their responses.
Overwhelmingly, we’re seeing the desire for unity: for God’s sake, for the Church’s sake, and for the community’s sake. Would you join us Monday, November 20th at City Church on E. Buckeye Road at 6:30pm for this year’s service?
