Nine churches, one night of worship

“We’re all in this together.”
This phrase is everywhere in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. But we can’t be together physically. So when the church thinks about collaboration during these times, what it looks like to “be in it together,” we need to get creative.
Like other pastors, Pastor Dave Jacobson of City on a Hill Church looked at this unique moment and asked himself, “How can we leverage this opportunity?”
That led to a creative, collaborative idea that may not have ever happened back when everything was “normal” – a multi-church online worship night.
The United Night of Worship will feature nine Madison Area churches sharing songs, prayers, and scripture, as well as an online choir. While worship music styles differ from church to church, the heart behind it is the same: To intentionally focus our attention on God.
There will also be a moment in the night to focus attention on the Psalm 46 Relief Fund, which is providing hope and support to numerous families. You can read the latest update about the Psalm 46 fund here.
You can tune in to the event at 7:30 on Friday night. Links to the video can be found at the United Night of Worship Facebook Event or on these churches’ websites and/or Facebook pages:

When faced with the challenge of COVID-19, may we have the same response as Pastor Dave Jacobson: “We’re going to worship right through it.”
And as we worship our way through this crisis, may it rewire our hearts to be more loving and compassionate as we serve the most vulnerable people in our city.
These stories are possible thanks to our amazing donors. We invite you to partner with us in telling stories that highlight how God is working in and through the local church by supporting Collaboration Project today.
